Full-Time | In-Office, Hybrid | $60,000-$65,000 per year
Content is easier to create than ever before. Great content is not.
Anyone can generate words.
Very few people can create content that earns trust, generates qualified leads, influences decisions, and helps a business grow.
The difference isn’t writing ability. It’s judgment.
Knowing what matters.
Knowing what to challenge.
Knowing what to improve.
Knowing how to turn business goals into marketing that produces real outcomes.
That’s what we’re looking for.
Why We Exist
Empowering Leaders to Strengthen Communities.
Intrigue partners with landscape business owners across North America, the entrepreneurs who form the backbone of our communities and economies, to help them attract better opportunities, build stronger teams, and create lasting impact.
Our work goes beyond marketing. We help business owners clarify their direction, improve how they operate, and build companies they’re proud of.
We’re building the gold-standard in marketing for landscape businesses.
That mission is challenging, meaningful, and requires exceptional people.
The Reality
This isn’t the right opportunity for everyone.
You’ll be trusted with meaningful responsibility. You’ll work directly with business owners.
You’ll often encounter situations where there isn’t a perfect playbook. You’ll be expected to think critically, communicate clearly, and take ownership without waiting for instructions.
You won’t be micromanaged. You’ll be trusted to lead.
If you need constant direction, prefer rigid structure, or want someone else to be responsible for outcomes, you probably won’t enjoy working here.
If you enjoy learning, solving problems, improving systems, and helping people succeed, you’ll likely thrive.
The Opportunity
As a Content Marketing Strategist, you’ll help landscape business owners generate more qualified leads through strategic content marketing and organic growth initiatives.
You’ll work directly with clients to understand their goals, develop content strategies, improve content quality, and ensure our work supports measurable business outcomes.
This is not primarily a writing role.
You’ll spend more time leading conversations, improving content, solving problems, and driving projects forward than creating content from scratch.
Success is measured by the trust you build, the quality of your judgment, and the results you help create.
What You’ll Own
Client Leadership & Experience
You will often serve as the primary point of contact for content-related initiatives and play an important role in shaping the client experience. A big part of your role is helping clients contribute the knowledge, insights, and feedback needed to create effective content that attracts qualified organic traffic and supports business growth. The quality of our work depends on the quality of the conversations we have with clients.
You will:
- Lead onboarding, planning, lead generation, Own The Search, and website review sessions
- Gather the insights required to execute effective content marketing strategies
- Help clients understand content priorities, recommendations, and next steps
- Facilitate productive conversations that create clarity and alignment
- Manage expectations around timelines, deliverables, and priorities
- Build trust through preparation, responsiveness, and follow-through
- Serve as a reliable point of contact for content-related initiatives
This role is client-facing. Success requires strong communication, preparation, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to consistently follow through on commitments.
Content Quality & Editorial Leadership
You’ll serve as the final quality gate before content is published or delivered to clients. You’ll review, improve, and refine content across websites, blogs, emails, landing pages, and supporting marketing assets.
This includes:
- Transforming AI-generated drafts into client-ready content
- Identifying inaccuracies, weak claims, and generic messaging
- Improving clarity, structure, readability, and persuasiveness
- Ensuring content aligns with client goals and business objectives
- Maintaining brand voice consistency across channels
- Applying appropriate editorial standards based on audience and format
- Protecting the quality and reputation of our work
Your success will be measured by the quality of the content that leaves your desk.
Content Strategy & Organic Growth
You’ll help clients attract qualified organic traffic and generate leads through strategic content marketing.
You will:
- Develop content plans aligned with business goals
- Identify opportunities to increase lead generation through organic marketing
- Translate SEO recommendations into actionable content initiatives
- Plan website, blog, email, and supporting content campaigns
- Prioritize content based on client goals, search demand, and seasonal opportunities
- Help clients focus on the content opportunities most likely to create business results
You won’t simply create content. You’ll help determine what content is worth creating in the first place.
AI-Assisted Content Production
AI is an important part of how we work.
You’ll use AI to improve the quality, consistency, and efficiency of our content production process.
You will:
- Build and refine prompts
- Evaluate AI outputs critically
- Improve content through prompt iteration
- Identify weak content before publication
- Contribute to workflow and prompt improvements
Strong judgment matters more than prompt-writing ability.
Team Collaboration
You’ll work closely with teammates across SEO, design, development, advertising, account management, and project management.
You will:
- Coordinate content implementation and publishing
- Support website development and content deployment
- Help maintain momentum across sprints
